LCS: residential homes

At LCS, we believe that in order to provide stability and consistency are critical to providing a supportive, nurturing environment where children and young people can flourish.

We work with children and young people from London and the South East of England. Our children and young people have a range of complex needs and may present challenging behaviour as a result of neglect, abuse or other traumatic experiences. LCS aims to settle children quickly to achieve a period of stability from which we can build trust, develop and maintain routines and boundaries and begin to understand and address key issues and causal factors behind behaviours that are exhibited.

Our three registered children’s homes are inspected and regulated by Ofsted and copies of our inspection reports can be supplied to placing authorities on request.

Each of our three homes has a core staff team, registered manager and dedicated clinician.

Our staff are selected on their ability to work individually as well as part of a team and we invest heavily in training to build robust teams comprising of resilient and resourceful individuals.

The staff teams and registered manager are supported by a psychologist who oversees the care plans and behaviour management strategies for each individual child. The Care Director oversees the entire service and is responsible overall for Safeguarding across the organisation.

LCS supports young people to develop independent living skills and has resources to provide “semi-independence” packages through transition to independent living. We are developing 16+ supported accommodation resources in the local area in response to requests by our young people to live independently in their same local community. It is important to us that our young people learn the practical and social skills to stand on their own two feet in the long term so they can be independent in a safe, positive and sustainable way.
