Amanda Manning is LCS Resources & Office Manager and leads on referrals and placements. Amanda will liaise with the registered manager of the LCS home with any current or planned vacancy.

We are registered with Ofsted to take both planned and emergency admissions. Wherever possible, we would prefer to plan as this usually reduces anxiety for the young person being admitted and also for those children and young people currently in placement in a particular home.

The process we usually follow:

LCS bullet Please phone with initial basic details (age, gender, overview of needs and presenting behaviours – we are interested in strengths as well as difficulties)

LCS bullet If we have a potential vacancy we will ask you for more detail to look at matching with other children or young people in placement. You may have referral information that you wish to send to us – we can receive via email to  or by fax to 01304 375053.

LCS bullet LCS has a referral form and pre-admission risk assessment, both of which need completing and returning to LCS prior to a decision being made and the referral being accepted. These forms can be downloaded here:

Pre-admission risk assessment

LCS bullet Decision agreed with registered manager and subject to all paperwork received, admission date planned (usually with visit and overnight stay if time allows). Any contract or IPA should be agreed and signed by both parties (purchaser and LCS) prior to placement commencing.

LCS bullet LAC paperwork/Care plans (or equivalent) should be sent in advance of the child or young person being admitted. As a minimum, these documents must arrive with the young person.

LCS bullet Young person welcomed into the home through the most appropriate plan for them within the timeframe.

LCS bullet LAC reviews to be set up as per care planning regulations.

Day pupil referrals:

Brewood School accepts referrals for day pupils as well as those young people placed within LCS children’s homes.

For day pupil placements, please refer to Amanda Manning (with all available referral information) who will liaise with the Head of Education Services and Lead Teacher. Potential day pupils will be invited to interview at the school with their parent or carer and a decision will be made following the interview and visit to the school.

NASS logoBrewood School is a member of NASS and uses the National Contract for Schools for day pupils accepted on the roll.
